On October 26, 2019, Cross Church Preschool and Children’s Ministries will be joining together for a fun day at the Ozark Corn Maze. At the Maze, families will have the opportunity to purchase a pumpkin and/or make cards for residents of local nursing homes. These pumpkins and encouragement cards will be delivered during the week of October 28th-November 2nd.

Radical is a local missions ministry ministering and bring the gospel to low-income areas throughout Northwest Arkansas. Radical events include a Sunday afternoon worship service, preaching, IMPACT club with the kids, and a meal afterwards. Those who serve in this opportunity will be supporting and assisting our Radical leaders through engaging with the residents, playing with and loving on the kids, and decision counseling.

NURSING HOME VISITS

Participants will deliver the donated pumpkins and handmade cards (made by the preschoolers and children at the Ozark Corn Maze) to residents of area nursing homes. The date and time of the visits is flexible, but an organized group will deliver on November 2nd.

 

CROSS KIDS AT RUTH BARKER MIDDLE SCHOOL

Servants are needed to build raised flower beds on the Ruth Barker Middle School campus. Shovels, rakes, pitch forks and soil will be needed to develop a flower bed for science classes to grow vegetables for the community. This is a partnership with families from the school for this community project.

 

BIRCH KIRKSEY PARK BEAUTIFICATION

Participants will do clean up and landscaping work on a park behind Birch Kirksey Middle School to help renovate, beautify and improve the park. This project is important because it helps the students who use it daily, as well as the community of Rogers. Shovels, rakes, trash bags, and other garden tools are essential.

In coordination with the City of Rogers, Participants will remove an existing fence and install a new fence that has been pre-cut and holes drilled along the soccer fields at Foerster Park by the Rogers Recreation Center.

COAT DRIVE

Participants are asked to bring a new or gently used coats, along with hats and gloves on Sunday morning November 3rd. Coats will be collected in the Student building and the Gatheria stage. Coats will be given to the clothing closets of Rogers and Bentonville high schools, junior highs and elementary schools for students in need of a coat as the weather gets cooler.
